John Lewis’ third annual start-up accelerator programme is once again opening its doors to entries. The retailer is offering budding tech entrepreneurs the chance to receive a share of the £200k funding, as well as commercial partnership.
Running in collaboration with L Marks, the tech start-up fund specialising in corporate innovation, JLAB will run for 12 weeks across 6 categories. Aiming to “shape the retail experience for customers of the future”, the six categories include: health and wellbeing, ‘tech for kids’, and ‘effortless shopping’.
“JLAB is about bringing disruption and innovation to the retail industry”, says John Lewis IT director, Paul Coby. “We want to develop ideas and technology that really excite John Lewis shoppers. To do this, it’s essential that we work collaboratively with fast-growing businesses to add value to their operations”.
2015 JLAB winner Chris Chuter, CEO of Peeple, praised the accelerator programme:
“JLAB turned us into a global company. Working with John Lewis and L Marks took us to the next even, and helped us better understand and create a product for the international market”.
JLAB is open for entries until May 8th. Find out more here.
