A new organization – Creative England – has launched a £1m fund to unlock investment in the digital and creative industries outside of London. The organization is based in Salford and is funded by the National Lottery via the British Film Institute.
Creative England will be administering interest-free loans of between £50k – £100k to SMEs to develop new software, applications and content for growth markets, including, cross-platform TV development, healthcare, government services, games, e-learning and mobile applications.
The loans must be matched by companies to share development costs. The fund is designed to support innovative ideas for content development with commercial exploitation opportunities.
The organization is currently encouraging applications from as many different people as possible.
